In short
- You don’t need an account, a name or an email address to use the tools.
- The dates you enter are calculated in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
- The site doesn’t currently set cookies of its own. Once advertising is switched on, Google and its partners use cookies as described below.
What is stored in your browser
The site keeps two things in your browser’s local storage: whether you chose the light or dark theme, and a flag that the site’s fonts have already been downloaded so they can show straight away. Neither is sent to us, and you can remove both by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
When you calculate a date, your input is added to the page address (for example ?d=1448-04-25) so you can
copy the link and share the result. The link stays in your browser unless you share it.
Technical logs
Like any website, our hosting provider and content delivery network log technical details of requests, such as the IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, for operating the site, security and preventing abuse. We don’t use them to identify you.
Advertising and cookies
The site will show Google AdSense ads in reserved spaces. Once they are switched on:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of some other vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info.
- Google explains how it uses data when you use its partners’ sites.
Before ads are shown to visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we will show a Google-certified consent message that lets them accept or refuse cookies; personalised ads will not be used for them without consent.
Analytics
The site doesn’t currently use any analytics or tracking tools. If we add one, we will update this page and say what it collects.
Children
The site is for a general audience, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data about children.
Your rights
Under Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law and other laws that apply, you can ask about your data and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Since we don’t collect data that identifies you, we will usually hold nothing about you, but we are happy to answer any question at [email protected].
